About YogDaan Yoga

YogDaan was started from a common goal to share the knowledge, experience, and love of Yoga to the world. Our YogDaan team of qualified & dedicated teachers, facilitators, entrepreneurs and specialists come from different walks of life and backgrounds.  YogDaan Yoga is a Yoga Alliance registered school (RYS) offering a range of well-rounded, holistic Programs, Short Courses, Workshops, Retreats and Residential one month intensive Yoga Teacher Training Courses (YTTC) that combine classical traditional teachings of yoga with a modern approach. Students are immersed in Traditional Hatha Yoga with contemporary style of Vinyasa Flow. 

Our programs provide the opportunity for people to step away from the daily grind, rejuvenate and reconnect with mind, body, spirit, attaining more peace & harmony in their lives.   Our YogDaan Yoga Residential TTC Programs not only provide our students to become Independent Yoga Teachers to teach around the globe but also presents a platform to enrich their individual self-growth, awareness and inner transformation.  Our programs offer students in-depth foundation & understanding of Yogic Philosophy, Practice, & Techniques situated in the tranquil, serene environment of Himalayan foothills of Darjeeling, India.

Our Mission, Guiding Principles and Values

At YogDaan Yoga we hold space for those seeking balance, a better quality of life and alignment with their own centre, passion and purpose.  Based on ancient yogic science, philosophy and traditional techniques combined with contemporary approach with various healing modalities,  we aim to provide a safe and nurturing space for growth, self-discovery, inner transformation and deepening of one’s spiritual practice. Our mission is to inspire people to awaken to inner love, joy, abundance, good health and wealth, to explore the experience of oneness and to discover their authentic true-selves.

Our guiding principles are community centred, spirit directed, contributing value and inner-peace.  We are committed to self-growth, self-empowerment, personal and spiritual development.  We believe in mind-body-spirit connection. We are spiritual beings having a physical experience and we acknowledge a higher power and divine presence in our lives.  

Based on Patanjali Yoga Sutras, the Yamas (Moral Disciplines) and Niyamas (Observances) can be seen as moral codes or ways of “right living” that form the foundation of our yogic practice and honouring these ethics we cultivate more awareness and a present state of being always being mindful of each action. Iyengar describes both the Yamas and Niyamas as the “golden keys to unlock the spiritual gates”, as they transform each action into one that originates from a deeper and more connected place within ourselves.  

The five Yamas we advocate are Ahimsa (non-violence in thought, word, or deed), Satya (Truthfulness), Asteya (Non-stealing), Brahmacharya (Faithfulness, right use of energy), Aparigraha (Non-greed), and the five Niyamas are Saucha (Cleanliness), Santosha (Contentment), Tapas (Discipline, Austerity), Svadhyaya (Study of the self and of the texts) and Isvara Pranidhana (Surrender to higher being or contemplation of higher power).

YogDaan in sanskrit language means contribution, to give, to help, to share or create value to others.  We all have gifts, talents and skills to contribute to the world and we encourage everyone to discover their own passion, gifts that align with their soul blueprint and life purpose.  As Yogi Bhajan stated ” Attitude of Gratitude is the highest Yoga” and we can consciously ask ourselves “How can we be of service to others?”  We are committed to giving back and serving our communities and sharing the knowledge, wisdom, experience, teachings, and techniques of the ancient yogic science to enhance everyone’s individual well-being.  


We encourage an atmosphere of respect and sincerity. Be mindful and be kind whenever possible, be aware of how our words, actions can affect others and be accountable and accept responsibility for our own actions. 


In a holistic yoga centre we hold space for our students who are experiencing change, growth, and self-healing so we honour their journey with compassion and acceptance.

Everyone has different physiologies and individualities coming from diverse backgrounds and cultures.  Our programs are open to all levels and we respect each individual’s culture, background and lifestyle choices.
